US Social Security Administration

Representative was extremely rude and dismissive. I had researched online to see if what I needed done could be done there and nope had to bring paperwork into local office. Was asked by representative why I had done so and what was he supposed to do with it. So, I guess, add incompetent as well as rude and dismissive to Matt Logan's (that is the name he gave me) qualities. I think these people forget where the money to pay them comes from - the very people they are treating with such disdain and rudeness. But I also don't think they care how they treat people from reading other reviews. There is no excuse for the government we pay for allowing such incompetence and rudeness to exist in this agency. Sad to say, but hopefully Karma will give them a dose of their own behavior some day so they might realize how it felt to be treated in such a disrespectful, disdainful, unhelpful and incompetent manner. Updating from 1star to 4 because I was contacted by a supervisor who was very helpful and nice and had another representative contact me. She was also very helpful and nice and completed what the first one did not and also informed me of other stuff I was unaware of that was useful. So there are people working here that care about helping you with what needs to be done. Hopefully if you have to go in you will get one that is helpful and nice. Thanks to these two people for caring enough to go above and beyond to help and prove there are nice decent people working there.

Over the past few months, I’ve been helping my mom navigate Social Security after the recent passing of my father. The process has been long and frustrating — endless automated phone menus, repeated hold times, and representatives who were either kind but unhelpful or dismissive altogether. Then one day, by sheer luck, I was connected with Sonja King, and she was an absolute gem. Within 10 minutes, she had my mother’s issues resolved — something that had taken me weeks of calls and stress to even get close to accomplishing. She was knowledgeable, efficient, and kind, and she treated us with respect and genuine care. I am incredibly grateful for her help. Sonja is a true asset to the Social Security Administration and a perfect example of how much of a difference one dedicated person can make.

We were not aware until we drove for 30 minutes, they only offer appointment only assistance.

They expect you to have everything they want/need, but don't bother to tell you anything about any type of delay. When a loved one passes and you're trying to get all affairs in order, you need to know about any kind of prospective delay.

You get the run around just to get another social security card

My experiences w/ the Florence Al. S. S. A. OFFICE has been great ! But when I call just to change my address w/ S. S. A office , that is a whole other story ? It's either they experiencing high call volumes or The certain days of the week is very busy or etc ;etc ; ? I waited 2hrs on hold and never got my call answered finally I called again ? And the robot tells me it will return my call ! Good that wasn't offered the last 2 mos ? Well it said it would 38 mins for the call back ? Never got that call back ? I'm sorry but idk what is going on and there is only 1 S.S.A. office in Florence Al. There's not 1 in the surrounding cities either here in North Alabama ? And no transportation in the area I'm in ? Unless u take a Uber or Lyft ? And south of here there's no Ubers or lyfts or bus service or taxi's ? It is like a setup for failure ?

I Usually dont give bad reviews, but this place deserves ZERO stars!!!google should put a ZERO star option because this places deserves a 0 rating. They are no help at all. My husband has been Waiting for his social number for months now and they keep saying that " there is something wrong" with their system. We have had to put so many things on hold because these people think its ok to make us keep waiting. These people are suppose to help the community, they have one job and cant even do that. Its ridiculous
