We moved my mother in on Sunday and so far we have been very impressed. The staff is top notch, so caring, and genuinely try to connect with the residents. Jan and Scott were both a pleasure to work with. This is not an easy decision having to place a loved one somewhere, but The Brennity has made it much easier than it would have been otherwise.

My mother and I visited The Brennity this past week and loved the property. Jan was extremely helpful in identifying my mother's needs and extremely kind and funny. I got to meet many of the residents who lived there and found them to be happy, engaging, and really fun to be around. We haven't made the final decision about my mother's care, but when we do it will be The Brennity.

Exceptional Care at The Brennity The Brennity truly stands out. From Jan Weiss’s compassionate guidance to the executive team — Rackell (RaeRae) Hooks, Wanda Johnson, and Scott Kolzow — who made my father’s move smooth, every step was handled with care. The med-tech team, including Amber, Mya, and Sonjay, are extraordinary, Michelle in concierge makes everyone feel welcome, and Brandon and the maintenance team are always prompt. My father is well cared for, and we couldn’t be more grateful. I give The Brennity my highest recommendation for assisted living.

I was at The Brennity today and participated in a really fun game with the residents. It was like playing the slot machine in a casino. It was very creative with flashing lights and real fruit. The residents loved it. Everyone received some candy as a prize.

I’ve been waiting to write this review. Now, I notice no reviews have been written in over 1 year, 5 and 11 years and each received a blanket response 9 months ago, even to a complaint. Things have changed at The Brennity Memory Care facility. We moved my Dad out of The Brennity a couple months ago. He’s 93 with Dementia and an amputee so he is in a wheelchair. When we brought him to The Brennity, it was a Godsend. We had no idea what we were dealing with or how to deal with it. Our mother was dying and lots of his behavior got put on the back burner but came to head one day and we knew we were in trouble. Dad’s assigned nurse was wonderful, understanding and my Dad really took to her. Dad’s condition has progressed. We learned so much how Dementia works etc by him being there. He was social and had a routine which he really prefers. We had a caregiver that went by daily to check on him, take him out to lunch and ride him around in the car. He and my mom had been living with my sisters and I. Since then, mom passed and we all work so at home care was a challenge. The caregiver started giving us concerning reports. The last 6 months of being there we noticed decline in the care. Mainly night shift care was declining. He was being left in his wheelchair all day and night. He would wheel around until he fell asleep, when he woke up he would continue to wheel around. His assigned nurse couldn’t be with him 24/7. We visited on the weekends, he always had a bruise, cut etc. No one ever knew why or how it was happening. At first it was him trying use the toilet, on his own, and he would fall. He needed assistance to go to the restroom. Of course he did, that’s why he was there. His mind wouldn’t tell him he needed to go. He found out usually too late and many times he and other residents were left to sit in their own mess. Dementia patients loose a lot, the one thing that can be helped is dignity. We reported what we found, what we were told. Changes were promised. Within 2 days the same problem occurred. Our caregiver found him in women’s clothing because all his clothing had been lost? He regularly smelled like poop and it was in his wheelchair constantly. We constantly replaced clothes, shoes (he only needed one) and towels. The care was lacking. I hesitate to say that as a blanket suggestion of all the staff. My family only experienced kindness from the staff. I just can’t guarantee that was what my father was experiencing when no one was around to see. Luckily he is not violent and is very sweet, now. His new place, he is sleeping 8-10hrs a night, in his bed, he’s content and happy, clean shaven daily, his skin is better by being rubbed down daily. He is still social. He is always fresh and clean. He’s not had once “accident” since being at his new place. The difference is care. Taking time to care and ask to take him to the restroom and help him, he has one leg for God sake. Care to take time to help him into his bed at night, and help him get out of bed in the mornings, care to get him into a recliner to watch tv, care to make sure he looks and feels good. I am very thankful to the staff that did help my dad. He was well liked and didn’t cause problems. I question what was going on when no one was looking and an answer of “he won’t remember anyway” is not how anyone wants to be treated when no one is looking.

My grandfather has advanced stage Parkinson’s and has moved there. He and I both love it. He has his own apartment. The place is beautiful and absolutely spotless. The staff is amazing and very kind to the residents. It’s so beautiful I wouldn’t mind living there myself!

Mother has been a resident for almost 9 months now. She really enjoys the different activities and the staff. Her only complaint is that there are so many old people. (She's 89) we are happy with the treatment she has received. Have recommended this residence to others.
